at first, my Network knowledge is not the best...
One of our Customers is getting some Network Time-Outs between SAP GUI and the SAP ERP Server.
They have Cisco Switches and a Radius Server installed.
The Error in SM21 shows the following:
"Operating System call failed error 10054"
The Cisco-Log shows something like this at the same time:
"Starting 'dot1x' for Client on Interface"
So there was a Re-Authentication at the same time as the Time-Out between SAP-GUI and the ERP Server.
My questions is now:
Is there any "dot1x" Re-Authentication between SAP-GUI and the SAP ERP Server available?
Or does this protocol/feature runs only under the Windows OS and the Network Layer?
I´m asking this because someone told me that SAP uses "dot1x Authentication".
At the moment i don´t know if this is right or wrong.
If this information should be wrong, i can tell them to check that the Switches and Network is property configured.
I don´t like to give out wrong Information.
