SAP Solution Manager Preparation, Maintenance Optimizer and Landscape Verification 1.0 SP1 for SAP Solution Manager

SAP Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1 (SP23 or higher) is required to download the EHP5 packages and calculate a list of packages ("Stack XML") which are required by the installation tools. You can get an overview about SAP Solution Manager in the document SAP Solution Manager for SAP Business Suite 7.
You need to ensure that the system landscape in SAP Solution Manager (SMSY) is correctly defined and up to date as well. Please have a look at the blog "How to configure product system and technical system to run Maintenance Optimizer" in order to get further information about manual actions in configuration of systems (especially of your product system) and how Maintenance Optimizer behaves differently based on landscape patterns.
In addition the Maintenance Optimizer must be set up and running (check SAP Note 1436297).
