In few industry specific solutions like IS-Aerospace / IS-Defence, the vendor material number is available in material master itself. Please let us know whether you are using any industry specific solutions.
If there is no IS solutions, the vendor material number is not saved in material level. But it could be maintained as characteristics under material classification. You may go to classification view of the material and check the same.
