I don't have much more idea about lock box function. According to some country standard's ,will considered in to accounting books ,once check honored at Bank. They will use sub ledger account as Check received from Customer GL account and Debit to this GL account and Credit to Customer GL account as Special GL. Entire process may vary ,country to country.
