Hi Janice,
I will follow these steps to validate:
1. Check this asset dep start date, if this asset had any balance and depreciation posted in previous year, it should show remaining life, if screen layout settings have field active.
2. Check settings for depreciation areas screen layout, field remaining life be active. (OAYZ)
One of these two should be missing.
