Such requirement did not arose for me in my total applications, perhaps because of which I formed an opinion that it is not necessary. Some technical (programmatic) compulsions making these fields appear there. Also my senses say, there is no such configuration. When you used the word Mechanism it is either Customizing OR Workbench (Enhancements).
But we never know. Someone might come with a thing which could be a learning point to everyone including me. With this view only I used the word Good news in the other thread..
