sounds like the issue mentioned in note http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/2063926 but for < NW 7.3...
maybe the workaround mentioned in the note 2063926 helps "As a workaround, you can configure your browser to open the portal in the compatibility mode, as described in SAP Note 1458799."
