Regarding "a pending content section under my profile", the user profile is public, so at the moment adding such a section would not really work. We do envision having a private view of the profile in the future, however, at which point we could consider a feature like this.
If you are looking to avoid having to go back to your blog posts to see what the status is, I believe (not sure; maybe Moshe Naveh can tell us) that you receive a notification when your submitted blog changes status.
